How is solid perfume different from spray perfume?

Traditional perfumes are usually alcohol-based liquids that are sprayed onto the skin. ēma is a wax-based solid that you apply exactly where you want it.

Which fragrance pods fit the metal Surrealist compacts?

Our metal Surrealist compacts are designed exclusively for ēma 3 g pods.

The size, shape, and refill mechanism of the compact are specifically designed to hold our 3 g Surrealist fragrance and Lip & Cheek Tint pods securely.

Our smaller 2 g Layering Collection pods do not fit the metal Surrealist compacts.

If you own one of our Surrealist metal compacts, always look for an ēma 3 g refill.

What is the Layering Collection?

The Layering Collection is our customizable fragrance system. Individual fragrance notes come in 2 g pods that can be worn alone or combined to create your own scent.

Experiment with different combinations and proportions until you find a blend that feels completely yours.

Do Layering Collection pods fit the metal compacts?

No. Our 2 g Layering Collection pods do not fit our Surrealist metal compacts.

The two systems use different pod sizes:

Surrealist metal compacts = 3 g pods only
Layering Collection = 2 g pods

How should I store my solid perfume?

Because solid perfume is wax-based, very warm temperatures can temporarily soften the formula.

How do I refill my metal compact?

When your fragrance is finished, remove the empty pod and replace it with another compatible ēma refill.

The compacts are designed to be kept and reused, so you can change fragrances without replacing the compact.

How do I clean my compact?

Wipe the compact gently with a soft cloth. If necessary, use a small amount of mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
